Bingöl University, which has undertaken the mission of Pilot University in the field of "Agriculture and Basin-Based Development" within the scope of "Regional Development-Oriented Mission Differentiation and Specialisation Programme", carries out valuable studies to contribute to the development of beekeeping in our country and its region.

Bingöl, which is one of the most favourable areas of Turkey and the Eastern Anatolia Region in terms of beekeeping activities with its natural environmental features, is very important for sustainable development in many areas from productivity to export, from branding to the protection of native species with the perspective of regional development and specialisation, with its geographical location, different climate types, rich biological diversity and unique nature, especially Bingöl honey produced in the mountains with more than a thousand flower species.

As the Turkish Cooperation and Coordination Agency (TIKA), we share our country's experience in beekeeping and honey production in every region of our heartland from Kosovo to Georgia, from Albania to Tajikistan, from North Macedonia to Somalia, from Montenegro to Jordan, from Bosnia and Herzegovina to Pakistan, and we carry out projects and activities all over the world, from training to domestic product support for the development of beekeeping. In this context, bringing Bingöl's beekeeping experience together with our heartland is undoubtedly an important work that will produce added value for our country and the countries in the region.

I would like to thank Prof. Dr. İbrahim ÇAPAK, Rector of Bingöl University, and the administrative and academic staff of the university who contributed to these valuable studies.
